Cossacks Rally For Late Win Over Super Volcano
Behind the hitting of Matt Thomas, the Kyiv Cossacks stopped the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 5-3. Thomas was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Cossacks. Bob Rendahl came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. The Cossacks lead the Federation League Knuckleheads Division by 5½ games.

Thomas had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Carlos Castaneda, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Cossacks a 4-3 lead. It was the 21st double of the year for Thomas.
