Both teams had their chances, but the Arizona Scorpions eventually prevailed.

Though he had a stellar game, Brian Williams could not prevent his team, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, from losing, 6-5, to the Arizona Scorpions. Williams went 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Alex Smith in relief, making him now 1-4. Rodolfo Merlos took the loss for Wilmington. Picking up his 9th save was fan favorite Ramiro Rocha.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Nate Jacobson came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Wilmington pitcher Rodolfo Merlos, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Arizona on top, 6-5.

"Enjoyed this one," Jacobson told the Arizona Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

Arizona, with the win, sits at 19-36.
