The Los Angeles Kings faced a tough opponent in Portland pitcher Jason Scothorn, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Beavers Park by a final score of 6-3. Scothorn went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Jeremy Valentine picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Vendelin Sivak was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Los Angeles at 29-27 for the season.
