Knights Lose to Sugar Kings, 8-5
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Tony Anaya, the Havana Sugar Kings defeated the Brooklyn Knights, 8-5. Anaya was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Sugar Kings. Kurat Feyzioglu earned his 34th save, after closing out the game. The setback makes Brooklyn 72-72.
Anaya contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Havana in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Anaya took a sinker from Justin Gray and stroked the home run to right. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Sugar Kings to leap in front, 5-3.
In postgame comments to the Havana Today, Anaya said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
