Dominant Performance by Ricketts in St. Louis Win
|
Mike Ricketts never let Osaka get something going. The St. Louis right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Archies to a 3-0 win. Jesus Gutierrez was credited with the save, his 39th in 43 tries. St. Louis goes to 90-54. The win puts them 11½ games up in their division.
In his 92-pitch effort, Ricketts allowed no runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 8.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Ricketts.
