Kyiv first baseman William Melnick was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Saskatchewan beat the Cossacks, 8-5, in 10 innings. Picking up the save was Esteban Vega, his 1st. Saskatchewan, now 77-67, holds down third place in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division.

Saskatchewan used a timely hit from Bill Horning to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the 92's ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said 92's manager Salvador Rubio.
