Barraza reaches base 4 times to Fuel Kings Offense
|
The Los Angeles Kings knocked off the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 8-1, at Sportsman's Park. Manny Barraza was a big reason Los Angeles won. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Toby Guinn got the win, improving to 2-4. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. Today's win puts Los Angeles at 23-31, while Sudbury falls to 28-29.
Zack Labb had a big 2-run home run for the Kings in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Los Angeles leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Danny Dudley, who finished 5th in the FL in wins with 14 in 2046, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Kings on top, 5-1.
"They just got us," said Sudbury manager Coach John, "and that's all I can say."
