Pizzas Handle Yellowstone, Snag 2-1 Win

Volcano Ballpark featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Detroit Pizzas topped the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 2-1, in Alliance League action at Volcano Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Detroit pitcher Nate Spinks. The winner was Spinks. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Justin Kowalick. Vance Niec was credited with the save for Detroit, his 5th of the season.
Jose Caravaggio, who finished 2nd in the AL in home runs with 48 in 2046, had a direct impact on the outcome. Caravaggio contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Detroit up, 2-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Spinks.
The win gives Detroit a season record of 82-61.
