The Brooklyn Knights defeated the Detroit Pizzas, 9-3, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Brooklyn third baseman Rafael Brito had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Pizzas, now 72-70, have lost 4 in a row.
Esteban Gonzalez had a big 2-run double for the Knights in the bottom of the third inning. With Brooklyn trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Jim Edmons and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 30th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 2-1.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Gonzalez.
