Chicks Pop Archies, 10-4
|
The Memphis Chicks defeated the St. Louis Archies, 10-4, at Russwood Park. Memphis was led by 29-year old third baseman Daniel Pratley, who went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jeremy Myers picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 6-6. Memphis is in last place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division with a record of 23-32.
Memphis took the lead, 4-3, on Aaron Turley's 3rd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Turley hit in the bottom of the seventh, made St. Louis pitcher Wayne Murphy wince.
"Daniel leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Memphis manager John Griffin.
