Hyenas in Free Fall, Lose 8th Straight
|
The Blueberry Bulldogs grabbed a win, 2-1, at Bulldogs Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from East Haddam pitcher Chris Newell. Newell went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Sudbury reliever Brett Richardson picked up the win to move to 7-8. Jason Derrick suffered the loss. The second-place Blueberry Bulldogs have won 6 in a row.
Joe Seelye was the walk-off hero for Sudbury. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blueberry Bulldogs second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Seelye.
