Kyiv Decked by Cooper, Kings
|
The Los Angeles Kings licked the Kyiv Cossacks, 8-1. Rowan Cooper deserved a big chunk of the credit. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Kings. Los Angeles pitcher Robert Martinez got the win, upping his record to 10-13. Mark Powers got the loss. The third-place Kings have a record of 65-75.
The Kings picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"If it's down the middle," said Cooper, "you might as well hit it."
