Engels Rips 2 Home Runs in 16-6 Sugar Kings Triumph
With right fielder Jason Engels leading the charge, the Havana Sugar Kings defeated the Portland Beavers, 16-6, at Sugardome II. Engels, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in hits with 179, was 3-6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. After today's action, Havana sits at 78-63; Portland slips to 70-69.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Sugar Kings shortstop Mike Hieronymus hit a forkball from Steve Thomas for a 2-run single. Just like that, Havana was up, 5-4.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hieronymus.
