The Dublin Porters beat the Lansing Red Storm, 9-2. Dublin pitcher and Tyler, Texas, native Juan Gonzalez led the way. Gonzalez, now 13-7, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. Trenton Peterson, credited with the save, is now 12 for 16 in save opportunities.
Victor Ruiz went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Dublin. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Kane Tulk. It was his 48th walk of the season.
"Juan did what Juan does," said Dublin manager Hannah Porter.
The victory gives Dublin a record of 77-63.
