Osaka Downed, 5-3, by Dragon Warriors
|
The Hanoi Dragon Warriors knocked off the Osaka Takoyaki, 5-3, in Alliance League action at Takoyaki Park. Hanoi pitcher and Borger, Texas, native Nick Rennie had an outstanding performance. Noah Powell recorded the save, making him 33 for 37. Hanoi currently is in last place in the Alliance League Boneheads Division at 68-70.
Hanoi used the timely hitting of Josh Sunday to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dragon Warriors on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Sunday told the Hanoi Gazette.
