The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs had to overcome a fine effort from East Haddam pitcher Edgar Hernandez to win, 5-4, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Hernandez went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Eric Barone got the save, his 21st in 26 chances. Sudbury has now won 4 straight.

Josh Deere went 1 for 3 with a double for Sudbury. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Deere, who finished 4th in the FL in home runs with 40 in 2047, had a clutch at-bat. Facing East Haddam hurler John Motz, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blueberry Bulldogs a 5-4 lead.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Sudbury manager Coach John.
