The East Haddam Hyenas besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Brooklyn left fielder Kenichi Kanzaki by beating the Knights, 7-5, at Ballpark of East Haddam. Kanzaki went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Edgar Hernandez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-7. The Hyenas sport a record of 56-82.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Chris Little came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Mike Rodriguez, he hit a 0-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting East Haddam on top, 6-5.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Little. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
