In a low-scoring affair between the Detroit Pizzas and the St. Louis Archies, pitcher Brad Riddick was the difference between victory and defeat. The Detroit left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Pizzas win. Jose Giminez earned his 17th save in 23 chances. Detroit now sits at 70-68, while St. Louis falls to 93-45.

Detroit first baseman Jay Naylor contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 146th hit of the season and put the Pizzas ahead, 3-0.

"Time to decompress after a tough win," said Riddick.
