Red Storm Slap 3-1 Loss on San Antonio
|
Lansing picked up a win at Estadio Azteca, bumping off the San Antonio Aztecs, 3-1. Pitcher Cameron Elson was a major reason the Red Storm emerged victorious. In 7.1 innings, Elson surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Jeff Pledger notched his 24th save in 30 chances.
Lansing used the hitting of Devin Weathers to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Storm on top, 2-1. For the game, Weathers had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Cameron throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Lansing manager GM TDen.
After today's action, Lansing sits at 44-95, while San Antonio falls to 64-75.
