The Portland Beavers received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Jason Scothorn, allowing them to shoot down the Arizona Desert Storm, 3-1. Portland now has a record of 73-65 with the win.

Scothorn ran roughshod over the Arizona lineup. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6. With the victory, he goes to 17-8 on the season.
