Cuenca Hits 2 home runs in Blueberry Bulldogs Win
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs licked the Memphis Chicks, 9-3. Orlando Cuenca deserved a big chunk of the credit. The right fielder went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for the Blueberry Bulldogs. The winner was Josh Deere, who threw 110 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits. Sudbury has now won 3 in a row.
With Sudbury leading 6-2 in the top of the ninth, Cuenca came up to bat against Memphis pitcher Matt Schille. Cuenca hit a sinker to left for a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 9-2.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Cuenca.
