Avery Schools Los Angeles in 3-0 Waikiki Triumph
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Waikiki Wayfinders and the Los Angeles Kings, pitcher Bobby Avery was the difference between victory and defeat. The Waikiki right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Wayfinders win. Danny Dudley recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 29 for 37. The last-place Kings have lost 4 consecutive games.
Avery was dominant for Waikiki. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 9 strikeouts. He threw 106 pitches over 8 innings in the contest.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Avery. "Successful pitchers do it."
