Memphis Sent Home with 5-2 Loss
|
Jack Frick, who is on pace for 211 strikeouts this season, propelled his team to victory over the Memphis Chicks. The final score was 5-2, San Antonio. Frick, now 9-16, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The Aztecs now own a record of 64-74.
Ricardo Bermudez had a big run-scoring double for the Aztecs in the top of the sixth inning. With San Antonio leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Jeremy Myers, who finished 4th in the FL in innings pitched with 217.1 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aztecs ahead, 4-2.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Bermudez.
