Havana first baseman Cesar Lopez was instrumental in helping the Sugar Kings triumph, 7-5, over the Detroit Pizzas. Lopez slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The winner in relief was Rick Licea. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. With the win, Havana pushed its record to 76-62.

Lopez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 curveball from Vance Niec, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sugar Kings a 7-5 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Lopez.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Lopez told the Havana Today.
