Scothorn Shuts Out Lansing, 1-0
|
Jason Scothorn of Pittsburgh easily handled the Lansing Red Storm, stopping them on 2 hits and chucking a complete-game 1-0 shutout.
"He really did a job on us," said Lansing manager GM TDen. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."
He finished the game with 8 strikeouts and no walks in a solid outing.
On the season, Scothorn has compiled a 11-5 mark with a 3.02 ERA in 20 starts. In pitching 152 innings he has 140 strikeouts and 41 walks while limiting the opposition to a .224 batting average.
