Buffalo Slap 7-6 Loss on Portland
|
The Buffalo Buffalo beat the Portland Beavers, 7-6, at The Greenhouse. Jordan Acosta went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The 2042 Rookie of the Year Award winner was a menace to Portland all day. Randy Nelson finished to wrap up his 9th save. Their 64-73 record puts the Buffalo second in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.
Acosta contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Buffalo in the bottom of the seventh. With his team trailing 6-3, Acosta took a fastball from Rodolfo Merlos and stroked the home run to right. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Buffalo to leap in front, 7-6.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Portland manager GM admiralballtr8s. "The effort was great."
