Blueberry Bulldogs Get 5-3 Win Versus St. Louis
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs withstood an impressive performance by St. Louis designated hitter Dean Saunderson to defeat the Archies, 5-3, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Saunderson went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kelly Halfyard got the win, improving to 6-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Ernie Woodard recorded the save, his 12th.

The Blueberry Bulldogs got an important contribution from center fielder Jose Rocha, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a curveball into right for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Blueberry Bulldogs ahead, 5-2.

"Good win for us," said Rocha. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."

With the victory, the Blueberry Bulldogs upped their record to 27-27.
