The Detroit Pizzas had no problem beating the Havana Sugar Kings, 11-3, at Pizzas Ballpark. Dylan Lucas, who is tied for 7th in the AL in triples with 3, led the onslaught. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Detroit. Sam Mooney, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Detroit now has a record of 77-58 with the win.

Lucas contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Detroit in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Lucas took a changeup from John Hoover and stroked the home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Pizzas to leap in front, 4-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Detroit skipper Evan Compton.
