Hyenas Lose to Sugar Kings, 5-2
|
Havana first baseman Cesar Lopez made his presence felt in the 5-2 Sugar Kings triumph over the East Haddam Hyenas. Lopez was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Havana pitcher Luis Lezama got the win. He's now 13-8. Edgar Hernandez was tagged with the loss. Kurat Feyzioglu was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 31 of 34 save opportunities.
In the top of the fourth, Havana catcher Fernando Vazquez had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Vazquez stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-1, Havana. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"Feels good to get the job done," Lopez said after the game.
By defeating East Haddam, the second-place Sugar Kings improved to 73-61.
