Kings Earn Late Win
|
Team2 Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Archies.
St. Louis got a valiant performance from pitcher Shuhei Ouchi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Kings. Los Angeles won the game, 4-3. Ouchi threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Robert Martinez in relief. His record improves to 7-4. Satoharu Sato took the loss.
Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Jonathan Carter to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kings on top, 4-3. For the game, Carter had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"This was a good win," said Carter.
Los Angeles is now 59-73, while St. Louis is 80-51.
