The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs racked up a win at Team2 Ballpark, bumping off the St. Louis Archies, 8-2. Luis Espinoza, who started for Sudbury, pitched effectively for his team. Espinoza, now 9-7, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Sudbury is now 72-59, St. Louis 83-47.
Sudbury used a clutch at-bat from Chris Sharp to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blueberry Bulldogs ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Sharp told the Sudbury Times.
