Powers Leads Kyiv Past Sudbury
|
Behind an impressive start by Mark Powers, Kyiv beat Sudbury, 4-2. Kurat Feyzioglu was credited with the save for Kyiv, his 33rd of the season. The victory gives the Cossacks a record of 70-60.
Powers was dominant for Kyiv. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit, while racking up 12 strikeouts. He threw 109 pitches over 8.1 innings in the contest.
"Mark giving us the start that he did was huge," said Kyiv manager Salvador Rubio.
