The Los Angeles Kings topped the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 4-3, in Alliance League action at Sportsman's Park. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Front Royal, Virginia, native Jon Avery. Eric Barone recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 38 for 44. The defeat makes Yellowstone 79-50.
The Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Dominique Petrocelli. For the game, Petrocelli was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 4-3 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Yellowstone manager GM AtticaOnline. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
