The Portland Beavers locked up a win at The Greenhouse, knocking off the Buffalo Buffalo, 4-2. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Jason Scothorn. He played a major role in the triumph. The Beavers improved their record to 57-72 with the win over Buffalo.

Portland used the timely hitting of Mike Webster to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beavers on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Scothorn said.
