Yinzers Slip Past Buffalo, 3-2

The Pittsburgh Yinzers faced a tough opponent in Buffalo pitcher Jimmy Miller, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Greenhouse by a final score of 3-2. Miller went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Melvin Verdin nailed down his 1st save. Pittsburgh is now 73-56, 10 games up in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.
Pittsburgh used a timely hit from Sergio Diaz to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
Diaz attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
