Super Volcano Walk It Off for 53rd Win of Season
|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano picked up a win at Volcano Ballpark, knocking off the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 5-4. On the mound for Yellowstone was right-hander Nate Spinks. He played a key role in the triumph. Yellowstone is now 53-74. Wilmington is 62-64.
The decisive blow was delivered by Andres Jaquez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Rodolfo Merlos to win the game for Yellowstone. The home crowd went nuts.
"Nice win for us," said Spinks. "Now we'll go after the next one."
