Knights Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Brooklyn got a strong outing from Tullio Citti as the Knights defeated the Kyiv Cossacks, 2-1, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Brooklyn is now 27-28, Kyiv 32-22.
John Baccari had a big solo home run for the Knights in the bottom of the second inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from Brian Collins, who finished 2nd in the AL in ERA with 2.88 in 2038, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Knights on top, 2-0.
"Tough loss," said Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
