Detroit right-hander Nate Spinks helped his team edge Yellowstone by the score of 3-2. Spinks kept the opposing lineup in check. The losses continue to mount for Yellowstone, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, three-time All-Star Chris Adams had a chance to be the hero. Yellowstone pitcher Art Madsen wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Adams hit a sacrifice fly. The Pizzas had themselves a thrilling win.

"This team is real focused right now," said Detroit manager Evan Compton.
