Though he had a terrific game, Mike Sizemore could not prevent his team, the East Haddam Hyenas, from absorbing a loss. Detroit won the game, 6-5. Sizemore went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Detroit reliever Geoff Seitz picked up the win. Jason Derrick, who led the FL in saves with 51 in 2042, took the loss for East Haddam. The third-place Hyenas dropped to 27-27.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when center fielder Chris Adams stepped to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Adams.
