Knights Squelch Cossacks Offense in Shutout Win
The Brooklyn Knights, behind a great outing from Ray Totino, who is tied for 6th in the AL with a 2.97 ERA, defeated the Kyiv Cossacks, 3-0, at Brooklyn Coliseum. In 6 innings, Totino surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Tanner Denny earned the save for Brooklyn, his 10th of the year.

Brooklyn got a lift in the bottom of the second from right fielder Nick Sweet, who hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Knights up, 2-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sweet told a Brooklyn Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

So far in 2049, Brooklyn is 24-30.
