Scothorn Now 1-0 After Beating Kings
|
Portland and Los Angeles took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, taking down the Los Angeles Kings, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jason Scothorn was a big reason why. With the loss, Los Angeles sinks to 4-2.
Scothorn, a native of Tampa, Florida, was dealing all game. He kept Los Angeles hitters off-balance, while giving the Beavers 8 quality innings. Scothorn threw 98 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 10.
"Jason can bring it," said Portland manager GM bigbluex02.
