The San Antonio Aztecs knocked off the Arizona Desert Storm, 4-2, in Alliance League action at Estadio Azteca. San Antonio pitcher and Galloway Township, New Jersey, native John Griese had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Griese, now 4-4. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Art Madsen nailed down his 13th save.

Bobby Pines contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. His at-bat helped San Antonio get the win.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said San Antonio manager Jim Lumo.

The defeat makes Arizona 26-26.
