5-4 Win Takes Archies to 30-21
The St. Louis Archies besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Yellowstone center fielder Josh Gingerich by beating the Super Volcano, 5-4, at Volcano Ballpark. Gingerich was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Shuhei Ouchi picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-3 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 6.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Kyle Sanchez was credited with the save for St. Louis, his 5th of the season.

Marcos Nevarez drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate for St. Louis. With one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Nevarez, who is tied for 10th in the FL in triples with 1, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Yellowstone hurler John Potter, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Archies a 4-3 lead.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Nevarez. "Those qualities define our team."

St. Louis is now 30-21, 6½ games up in the Federation League Birdbrains Division.
