A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Arizona Desert Storm and Memphis Chicks.

Arizona catcher Luke Binkley played a vital role in his team's 9-6 conquest of Memphis. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Arizona. Greg McDowell claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-3.

Joe Gainey, who is tied for 10th in the FL in triples with 1, took Memphis hurler Matt Schille deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Desert Storm on top, 9-6. In all, Gainey had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
