Hyenas Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The East Haddam Hyenas, despite a fine performance by Kyiv pitcher Adam Dodson, grabbed a 3-2 win at Kyiv Grounds. Dodson allowed 2 runs over 7.2 innings. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jason Derrick. Kyiv drops to 2-4.
Had Dave Bland not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bland hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Hyenas.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Bland told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
