The Buffalo Buffalo withstood a fine game by Detroit second baseman Bob Lucas at Pizzas Ballpark, to upend the Pizzas, 7-5. Lucas was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Randy Nelson sewed up the save, his 13th. The win puts Buffalo at 26-25 this season.
Emilio Nin came through with a big-time hit for Buffalo. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Nin.
