The Kyiv Cossacks went home winners at Pizzas Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Marco Pagan. Pagan stifled the Detroit Pizzas, enabling Kyiv to grab the 5-1 win. The Cossacks now have a record of 25-24.

Kyiv used a well-timed hit by Chris Nicotra to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Said Detroit manager Evan Compton: "You just have to tip your cap sometimes."
