Porters Subdue Lansing, 5-3
|
Jeremy Copeland powered the Dublin Porters to a win over the Lansing Red Storm. The final score was 5-3. The Dublin second baseman, who finished 4th in the FL in runs with 99 last year, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Wayne Murphy, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-0. Marco Pagan collected save number 11.
Dublin took a 4-2 lead on Copeland's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Sergio Bahena in the top of the seventh, propelled Dublin to the win.
"I thought we competed really well," said Porters manager Hannah Porter. "I thought the energy was really good."
Dublin has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
