Porters Come Back Late to Top Super Volcano, 4-2
The Dublin Porters picked up a win at Porters Ballpark, knocking off the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 4-2. Starting pitcher Ben Verville was a big reason why. George Ritchie notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Zion Anthony closed it out for his 10th save.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jason Widel came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Yellowstone pitcher Chris Wilson, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Dublin on top, 3-2.

"Enjoyed this one," Verville told the Dublin Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

So far in 2050, Dublin is 23-26.
