Portland Beavers starter Steve Thomas pitched effectively against the Havana Sugar Kings at Beavers Park. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 6-2 win. Steve Thomas picked up the win in relief for Portland, while Luis Lezama took the loss. The Alliance League Dimwits Division-leading Beavers have a record of 27-20.

In the bottom of the first, 24-year old right fielder Ethan Breaux hit a 2-run home run. The 12th home run of the season for the Portland right fielder put the Beavers on top, 3-1.
