						Pizzas Stop Kings, 8-2
					 |

The Detroit Pizzas defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 8-2, in part because of right fielder Jose Caravaggio. Caravaggio was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Pizzas. Phil Beard, who finished 5th in the AL in ERA with 3.43 last year, was the winner. He's now 7-9. The loser was Steve Wilkerson. Detroit is now 61-60.
A key moment came in the top of the sixth inning when Pizzas catcher Roger Williams socked a first pitch curveball to left for a 2-run single, putting Detroit up, 5-2.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Jim KP.
