Arizona Ruins Terrific Game by Nicotra
The St. Louis Archies withstood an impressive performance by Arizona first baseman Chris Nicotra to defeat the Desert Storm, 14-11, at Desert Storm Stadium. Nicotra was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. St. Louis goes to 74-47. The win puts them 14½ games up in their division.

Jerry Rodriguez drew 1 walk for St. Louis. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 11-11 tie with a run-scoring walk off Terry Donohue. It was his 8th walk of the season.

"It feels good to get this one," Rodriguez told the St. Louis Chronicle.
