The Los Angeles Kings locked up a win at Sportsman's Park, knocking off the Havana Sugar Kings, 6-5. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Jeremy Valentine. He played a major role in the triumph. Valentine got the win, improving to 5-13. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jim Davis wrapped it up, recording his 30th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Los Angeles left fielder Zack Labb gave his team the lead. With two out and a runner on 1st, Steady hit his 17th home run of the year. Havana pitcher Bill Mitchell surrendered it. With that, the Kings jumped in front, 3-2.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Labb told the Los Angeles Citizen.
The last-place Kings have won 6 in a row.
