The Detroit Pizzas spoiled a good performance by Yellowstone designated hitter Josh Gingerich, bumping off Yellowstone, 5-3, at Pizzas Ballpark. Gingerich went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Brad Riddick, the winner, is now 7-2. He struck out 5 and walked 2 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. George Liston finished to wrap up his 18th save.

Chris Adams had a big bases-clearing double for the Pizzas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from John Griese, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a 9.7 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to right. It was his 35th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pizzas ahead, 4-0.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Adams.

Yellowstone's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
