Wayfinders Drop Kings, 4-2, with Late Score
|
Los Angeles got a big-time effort from pitcher Dan Elliott, but it wasn't enough to keep the Waikiki Wayfinders from winning the game, 4-2. Elliott threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Kevin Nash picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Eric Barone suffered the loss. The Wayfinders are now 18-29, while the Kings fall to 16-32.
Waikiki used the timely hitting of Tyler Farrell to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wayfinders on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Farrell.
